Quickly leave Siem Reap behind and journey out through the countryside to the Kulen Mountain national park. The mountain was the first capital city and gave birth to the great Angkor civilization it remains one of the holiest sites in the country.
Our adventures begin with a short walk to the River of 1000 Lingas, incredible carvings set directly in the river bed. Beautiful carvings of gods and goddesses can also be found at this beautiful site. We visit the reclining Buddha, the largest in Cambodia. Your guide will take you through a traditional offering, a ritual undertaken by locals on a daily basis.
From here we wander through the beautiful jungle full of wildlife and butterflies heading to the bat caves. Along the way we may pass small traditional farming plots, with the techniques used today barely changed from their origins.
Our final destination are the waterfalls and swimming holes at Kulen where we will have time to explore, enjoy a picnic lunch and take advantage of the cool waters of Kulen Mountain.
